EMPOWER is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Elizabethann “Liz” O’Sullivan. She passed away on 16 April 2014 following a sudden and unexpected cardiac failure during a stress test in Assunta Hospital.
Liz was a long-time activist in the US before she came to Malaysia. Many of us knew her as a friend and ardent supporter of EMPOWER, as well as a member of AWAM. She was cheerful and enthusiastic and full of ideas — EMPOWER was looking forward to carrying out the three-year strategic plan we were all working on last weekend, with Liz. Her death is a terrible personal loss to all of us.
A wake will be held on Saturday, 19 April at Gui Yuan Funeral Parlour, Jalan 229, Petaling Jaya. The wake will take place from 3-4pm and 8-9pm. There will be a private funeral on Sunday for family and close friends.
Please come to the wake if you know Liz personally, and share your memories of her. If you have any photos you would like to share with us for the wake (like this one of Liz at the recent Strategic Planning Meeting), please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our sincerest condolences to her family. EMPOWER grieves with them.
